Most people say that phrase and think "my third attempt will reap success", meaning the third time they tried something, THEY DID IT!!!
For me, last week, the phrase meant something totally different!
For ME it was nearly the opposite.
First time - Mini P (The Snowflake) got hurt, sliced her chin open and needed stitches. I still can feel myself about to pass out just thinking about that.
Ok, I'm back.
Second time - Monkey jumped (broke my arm) and got a cast.
Well, third time is a charm!
We were at the park last Tuesday. I can say with all certainty the day because all I could think of was "really? 1 day before the cast comes off ONE kid...another one will be getting one on?"
I was doing Bootcamp. We (four of us that day) work out on the basketball court...our kids play on the playground. My kids usually bring scooters because they are fun on the big court.
Well, I hear my friend 'L' gasp and we all look to the playground to see Agent P tumbling down at the end of the curvy plastic slide...
with a scooter.
We all looked at each other.
Unsure of what the next appropriate step should be.
Laugh? I mean, the kid did just try to ride a scooter down a curvy slide...that is funny!
Scream and run? It wasn't pretty...
Well....
We listened (for screams) and watched (for obvious injuries).
I have 4 kids. I didn't go running. I have 4 kids. Did I mention that? I tend to let things work of a little if they can.
So, when I saw him limping, I went over to him.
Agent P and I talked and decided that maybe, just maybe, it seemed like a good idea at the time...but it actually wasn't.
Nothing broken. No stitches needed. No broken scooter.
So, third time WAS a charm...and I saved a few hundred dollars!
Cheers!
Seriously - a scooter down a curvy slide????? :-)
